About Rick

I have lived in Lake County for about 60 years and consider McHenry County every bit as much as my home. I grew up here and there is no other place I would rather be. I attended Mundelein high school, went to CLC and later went on to Alameda where I earned a masters in automotive technology.

I have worked as a union carpenter, owned several small businesses including an energy efficiency start up which served the US Navy, been a mechanic most of my life, owned my own shop and have made several inventions. Since retiring, I now own a small farm in Ingleside.

As a nation, we need to turn the temperature down and start working together. ALL of our children deserve better than the red versus blue divide that threatens our great Democracy and inhibits real progress. We have become too angry at one another and its largely due to big money interests in the media fomenting division because it profits them. This must end and it is up to us together to make it so.

I’m a man of faith but I do not believe that faith should interfere with governance and I take that from what Jesus said, “Render to Caesar the things that are Caesar’s, and to God the things that are God’s.” I married my wonderful wife over 55 years ago and I’m very sad that she was no longer with us. She was my support, best friend and helper for most of my adult life. I have four wonderful children and 9 marvelous grandchildren. I served on the board of my church and helped with maintenance as well.

I am thankful every day for my life. With the time I have left in this world, I am fighting to bring people together and make things better for generations to come.
